Easter Treat Peeps

Fun Easter Treats!

These are Ghirardelli candy holders made with last year's Dotty Paper and the My Peeps (B1402) stamp set.

Directions:

1. Cut Border & Texture paper at 3 1/2  inches X 9 3/4 inches. Each holder takes 1 strip.

2. Score paper at 3 1/4 inches from both ends. Use bone folder to reinforce score lines. You'll have 3 equal sections.

3. Trim out a small triangle from the right side about 1/4 of an inch from the bottom of the strip to the score line. (See picture below)

 4. Add glue to bottom of trimmed section and fold in to make pocket.

5. Embellish and punch a small hole for string. I stamped all my images and fussy cut them out. The eggs were colored in with  colored pencils and CTMH markers.

6. Finally add in your Ghirardelli chocolate!

As you can see from the last picture, each holder turned out just a bit different based on how I glued the images on the paper.

These made the perfect Easter treats but could easily be made in advance and then decorated with whatever holiday or theme you would like.

Post any questions you may have and I'll be glad to answer them!

What's the BUZZ???

The buzz is this glorious new paper pack from CTMH called Buzz and Bumble!  Buzz and Bumble will ONLY be available for the Spring & Summer 2013 season so stock up for future projects. This paper pack is VERY different from the colors I usually use but that was part of the fun of coming up with the card.

Wiper Card

I found this great card tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers and followed the instructions to the 't'. It was very easy.  It looks like a simple a2 card but there is a surprise!

I used only the paper from the paper pack to create this card and A1135 Quick Cards-Bumble Bee. It is an adorable stamp! The 'ribbon' is really just the zip-strip from one of the papers in the pack!
I used Chocolate ink and sponged over with Honey and Autumn Terracotta. Then added 2 Durable Artisian Studs to the stamped Champagne card stock. I cut all the frame pieces from Art Philosophy Cartridge with my Cricut. The background and card base were cut by hand following the instructions.

Surprise!

Once your card is put together and you pull on it, a wiper or pop-up comes out of the top of the card! For my card, I just knew I wanted a flower with another bee buzzing out. These came from the coordinating Buzz and Bumble My Stickease Assortment X7164c. These are high quality stickers that are substantial and so versatile.

Here is the card when completely opened up. I covered the sides with 2 more designs from the paper pack.
There is no inside for this card. I would either add a sentiment on these sides or use a white gel pen on the brown card stock on these same panels on the right side of the card.
The card sits up nicely for display and fits perfectly in a standard envelope.

Thanks so much for stopping by and seeing my project. Please come back soon or better yet, subscribe to my blog and my Facebook pages which you can do right from this blog!
