Fun Easter Treats!

These are Ghirardelli candy holders made with last year's Dotty Paper and the My Peeps (B1402) stamp set. 

Directions:

1. Cut Border & Texture paper at 3 1/2  inches X 9 3/4 inches. Each holder takes 1 strip.

2. Score paper at 3 1/4 inches from both ends. Use bone folder to reinforce score lines. You'll have 3 equal sections.

3. Trim out a small triangle from the right side about 1/4 of an inch from the bottom of the strip to the score line. (See picture below)

 4. Add glue to bottom of trimmed section and fold in to make pocket.

5. Embellish and punch a small hole for string. I stamped all my images and fussy cut them out. The eggs were colored in with  colored pencils and CTMH markers.

6. Finally add in your Ghirardelli chocolate!

As you can see from the last picture, each holder turned out just a bit different based on how I glued the images on the paper.

These made the perfect Easter treats but could easily be made in advance and then decorated with whatever holiday or theme you would like.

July Gift BAG and TAGS Workshop-Sign up today!

Come join the fiesta and make several gift bags and coordinating tags at Sharon's Paper Fiesta on Saturday, July 28 from 7:00-10:00 PM or Tuesday, July 31 from 2:00-5:00 PM.  Cost of the class is $25 per person.  The class will be held in my home in McAllen, Texas.

You'll create 2 gift purses, 4 gift tages, 2 pillow boxes, and 1 gift card holder. A wide variety of paper will be available for you to choose from. Or if you have 12x12 scrapbooking paper you really want to use, bring it along with your glue, paper snips, and cutter.

Instructions for the purse gift bag will be provided so you can make these cute bags any time you need one!

Altered Dinosaur Frame

Need a quick gift for a young child or a mom? Look at this super cute dinosaur frame I made recently as a hostess thank you. I simply measured the sides and made strips of paper to fit. 

Then I cut the ends into a point making a mitered end that fit just like the frame. I coated the frame with a medium coat of Modge Podge to adhere the paper to the frame and inked the inside and outside edge with Indian Corn Blue ink. You can tell from the picture that I also coated the top of the paper with a layer of glossy Modge Podge using a soft foam brush. 

Then it was stamping time! I took several stamps from the ROAR! set and stamped them in complimentary colors on Colonial White card stock. I picked the best images and cut them out. I decided they, too needed to be coated with a thin coat of Modge Podge and left them to drive.  Once dry, I played with their arrangement on the frame until I got it just right! I love how it turned out and had so much fun putting it together. A great gift made with love.
